Business and Tax Incentive Programs
The state of Florida offers a wide variety of incentives to encourage new business and industry and job creation. Those incentives and others are available to qualifying businesses locating in the City of Lake Wales.
In partnership with the City of Lake Wales, the Lake Wales Economic Development Council and its executive director work with prospects on a case-by-case basis.
Most of the state’s incentives are awarded to employers based on paying a minimum of 115% of the average annual county wages.
The average annual wage for Polk County is $35,800 or $17.21 an hour, so 115% of the average wage would be $41,170 or $19.79 an hour. Incentive levels rise at 150% ($53,700 or $25.93) and 200% ($71,600 or $34.42) of average wages.
