The Lake Wales Little Theatre provides regular live theatrical performances since 1978. It performs from its theatre building at 411 N. Third Street where up to 140 can enjoy an intimate theatre experience. A community- funded renovation created a pleasing design with new seats and raked rows ensuring a good seat for all. Its productions include recent hits old favorites and new plays never performed before. The theatre is run strictly by volunteers and has plenty of opportunities for not only actors but set builders painters sound and light technicians ticket booth and hospitality staff. Just south of Lake Wales in the community of Frostproof is the Ramon Theater a renovated vaudeville performance hall from the 1920s which features quarterly murder mystery dinner theater events an annual fundraising dance gala as well as a series of widely varied musical concerts. Lake Wales also is home to Bok Tower Gardens a fabulous garden designed by the famous landscape architect Frederick Law Olmstead Jr. more than 85 years ago. The gardens which attract visitors from around the world feature a neo-Gothic Singing Tower with carillon bells. Bok Tower Gardens features various art exhibits and musical concerts throughout the year. In nearby Winter Haven Theatre Winter Haven Ritz Theatre and the Ridge Art Association offer even more activities for art lovers. The Polk Museum of Art and Explorations V Childrens Museum offer cultural exhibits and hands-on learning in Lakeland.
